7. Cheryl's Find it & Found it Columm:
THE FIND-IT COLUMN by Cheryl P.
I have volunteered to help fan club members to locate merchandise that they
want to buy. Since the last newsletter, here are a few "Found-Its"
For my first Find-It, Sailor Pheonix asked me to find a Tuxedo Mask doll.  I
am happy to tell you that the Tuxedo Mask doll (Bandai Japanese version) can
be ordered from one of our fan club sponsers, The Beaman Company.  This is the
version of the Tux doll that is cherished as it is the best version on the
market.   The costume is outstanding and adds to the value of this item.
I ordered mine with the help of Norman Lee, the proprietor.  The store is
located in California and I can personally assure you that Norman shipped my
merchandise quickly and safely.  His prices are very reasonable, too.
THE BEAMAN COMPANY:

For my second Find-It, kali_girl2001 was looking for a Sailor Moon blanket.
Many vendors that I consulted said they hadn't seen one for ages if at all.
Below, I am printing the reply sent by Susanne St. Amant of Moon Kingdom
Products.
MOON KINGDOM PRODUCTS HOME PAGE:
http://www.cyberus.ca/~cdnsailormoon/
"Hi Cheryl,
Bibb made the bedding and stopped making it approx. 2 years
ago.  Don't think your member is going to have much luck finding it, sorry..
Susanne"
HOWEVER, KALI_GIRL2001, TAKE HEART!  SAILOR MOON IS GOING TO BE SHOWN ON THE
CARTOON NETWORK STARTING ON JUNE 1ST AT 4 P.M. EASTERN STANDARD TIME.  ANOTHER
RUN WILL SURELY LEAD TO  ADDITIONAL MERCHANDISE FOR FANS LIKE US!
Hope this is helpful!
Please send your Found-It Requests to: CherieBebe@aol.com
PLEASE PUT "FIND-IT" IN THE SUBJECT LINE - - - thank you!

MOON BEAM CENTRAL
by Cheryl P.
For each issue of the newsletter I will present at least one MOON BEAM - a web
site suggested for your surfing pleasure. For this issue, I highly recommend:
ANIME FRONTIER:
http://www.interlog.com/~sasami/
Anime Frontier is a "fan-run for fan" anime vendor.  In other words, it is not
a professional service but is run very efficiently and reliably.
The current offerings include:
· Compact Discs
· Laser Discs
· DVDs
· Calendars
· Tokimeki (an anime series I am not familiar with)
Specials are also run, and the prices are very reasonable.  I highly recommend
that you check out this great online shop - you will appreciate the assortment
as well as the authentic merchandise offered.

9. Cheryl's Merchandise that you might not have:
MERCHANDISE THAT YOU MAY NOT HAVE
by Cheryl P.
AS I COME ACROSS MORE UNCOMMON OR NEW MERCHANDISE, I WILL LET YOU KNOW ALL
ABOUT IT! HERE IS THIS ISSUE'S REVIEW:
1998 CALENDAR - PRETTY SOLDIER SAILORMOON
The particular item that I have is in full color and the pages are the size of
a poster.  In fact, many of the same pix in this calendar are also sold as
posters.  It was imported from Asia, but the lettering is in Japanese AND
English.
I ordered mine through the net, but Michael also has seen the same item in a
comic book/collectibles shop in his area.  The problem is that this is
expensive as far as calendars go - it costs $25!  Now, if you would consider
the possibility of carefully cutting the pages out and framing them as cool
posters, then the cost is really reasonable for 6 very beautiful posters.
My favorite drawing is a street scene of the girls (Serena and the Inner
Senshi) in casual clothing, posed inside the window of as well as in front of
a brick building.  (two are inside the building, looking out)  I love the
baseball cap that Rei is wearing (peak to the back, of course!).
The down side to this item is that there are only 6 calendar pages - - -
several months are combined on each page.  Other Sailor Moon and Sailormoon
calendars are available, some smaller in size, but I think that this one is
the prettiest for this year.
10. Sailor Zen's Anime Review
11. Mako-chan's Columm:
Mako-chan's Pointless Paragraph
Rejoice!  Well, I'll start out with the results of the poll from
last time.  The Japanese names won by a landslide!  But why am I
rejoicing?  The original 65 episodes of Sailor Moon are back on U.S.
T.V.!  Yes, but on what channel?  Starting June first, Sailor Moon will
air on the Cartoon Network at 4:00 eastern time.  But this may be a
problem, because not everyone has Cartoon Network.  And what about the
17 new episodes?  Those of you who don't have Cartoon Network, keep
mailing your local T.V. stations!  We want to make Sailor Moon available
to the entire Sailor Moon loving population!  Also, the 17 new episodes
will be airing on Cartoon Network!  The time hasn't been set, but at
least they will be included!  So the poll is: are you happy(Have Cartoon
Network), disappointed(Don't have Cartoon Network), or couldn't care
less(don't like english Sailor Moon, or live in Canada and already have
the new episodes.  Of course, you could be happy for your fellow fans!)

Okay here is Cataluna's news report:
 Sailor Says
13. Heavenshine's Fanfic Review:
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Hi again, everyone!  It's time for another Sailormoon Fanfiction Review!
^_^ Before I begin, I want to apologize to Chibi Usa, who recommended
that I read some of Mike Koos' works.  I am abashed to admit that I
never got around to doing it.  Urk.  I will try (the operative word
being *try*) to do that next time!  Ahem.  On with the review!
For this column I would like to turn your attention the stories of four
imaginative authors: John Biles and Jeffrey Hosmer; Minako-chan; and
Ysabet (who is a good friend of mine ^^), respectively.  And, hehehe,
once again, all of their works can be found in my archive, located at
http://members.tripod.com/~heavenshine/stories.html.
For those of you who haven't read "Sailor Moon Z", you are missing out
on what is quite possibly the *best* re-write of the SMSuperS in the
world of fanfiction!  (Mwahaha, no Chibiusa!)  All hail John Biles and
Jeffrey Hosmer, the brilliant duo whom write this continuing saga about
friendship, love, and battles.  LOTS of battles!  New characters (both
good and bad) are introduced, villains from the past re-emerge, and Naru
and Umino are reinvented . . . Well, heck, to be fair, *all* of our
beloved characters are reinvented. And this is not a bad thing!  What I
mean by it is that we have a better insight into what makes our pretty
soldiers tick. Heck, we actually learn something about *Setsuna*, the
most enigmatic of the senshi, although we never really get inside her
head, as we do the others (i.e. no first-person account of events).  The
Inner Senshi even get to "observe" the behavior and lifestyles of their
past egos in the Moon Kingdom, with very interesting results. *g* It's
hard to say who this story revolves around.  Everyone gets a moment in
the spotlight at least once; but if I were hard-pressed to name someone,
it would be Naru.  I've probably said too much with that statement, and
that's all the hint I'm going to give.  Currently 13 chapters are
available for your reading pleasure, with 14 and 15 in the wings (I
can't wait)!  In case you haven't gotten the drift, READ IT! ^_^
If you are in to shorter, quirky stories, then I highly recommend
"Nowhere Land" by Minako- chan. Set after Chibiusa leaves for the future
(not that one can even *tell* that there *is* a timeline), this story is
a hysterical romp through wisecracks and insanity.  To give you a taste
of what awaits you, here is a little snippet of dialogue from the
beginning of this very bizarre tale.  It takes place after the girls
find out that Ami got an A on her math test:
 Rei: What about me?
 Usagi: What about you?
 Rei: I'm smart too!
Mako-chan: Uh huh. So what did you get for your exam?
Rei: We don't have exams at T*A Girls Private School. It's a very
*select* school.
Minako: So how did you get in, Rei?
 Rei: Haha. Very funny.
And that is a *mild* joke, believe me.  To summarize the events quickly,
Rei loses her memory (you'll have to read how), the Inners drop acid
(O_o), and practically every cute male baddie from the series makes an
appearance (oohhh, aahhhh)!  Also, Cape Boy is (in the words of Cher
from "Clueless") brutally rebuffed by his "soulmate" Usagi in a rather
amusing situation!  So if you have time on your hands to read a strange
story about nothing in particular, immerse yourself in this fanfic.
Finally, "After the First Death" focuses on Aino Minako's last night in
England.  Ysabet is an incredibly talented writer; whatever the
character experiences, you do, too.  When you read this story, you are
perched on the rooftop with Minako, in her Sailor V guise, peering down
at the city she has protected for two years.  When the distress call
wails from the alley below, you fly through the darkness, as well,
trying to reach the person before something bad happens.  And through it
all, you are privy to the thoughts and musings of a young Japanese
crimefighter who is believed dead by her friends.  This is a powerful
tale, amusing at parts and tragic in others, and it will leave you
wanting more.  (And, thankfully, Ysabet will soon release her next
story!)  A must read!
Well, that's all for now; check back next time, when (hopefully) I'll
have read one of Mike Koos' various SM-related fics. ^^; If you would
like to suggest a story for me to read, feel free to e-mail me at
meden@cybertron.com.  Thanks, and keep reading!

14. Yamucha's Question Corner:
Okay this issues's topic is about both what do you think of the news of America and Canada getting the first 22 episodes of Sailor Moon S and which do our members of the club think is better subtitles or dubbed?
Jariten says:
It is great we are getting the episodes in some way, and I like subs more just since the original dialogue works better...I don't buy many dubs but i don't resent the people that do. Anime is anime!
Cheryl says:
I would love all of the fans to be able to see all 200 episodes of Sailor Moon/Sailormoon.  Any and all additional episodes would be great.
As for the second question, I have seen subs and dubs as well as French language Sailormoon, and I enjoyed all of the versions I have seen.   A devoted fan of the series would even enjoy clips in languages he/she was not familiar with.  :)
Ukyo says:
Well, In my oppinion I kinda like both sub and dub! I like listening to their real Japanese voices as to the dub! The Dub version has alot of censoring but at least I can understand it!
For the 22 new episodes! I'm shocked! Just hopefully DIC will get em in shape and put em on air! Oh how I dream of that day to come! At first I thought that we would never hear Sailor Neptune's voice or so....I never thought the SMS series would come on English!
Koyuki chan says:
Of course I think it would be great.
It doesn't really matter if it is sub or dub. but sometime dub is better since u are getting more involve. Like sometime, people are not good at reading sub. But since Dic have start out dubbing. I guess it should stay dubbing the ep.
